The halls were decked, and the spirits were high as our office embraced the holiday season with not one, but two heartwarming events that encapsulated the true essence of this magical time of the year. From a fierce Best Dressed Workstation competition to the Secret Santa extravaganza, our workplace became a hub of joy, creativity, and generosity.

Best Dressed Workstation Competition: Unleashing Creativity in the Office Wonderland

On the 15th of December, our office, the yard and the hangar witnessed a spectacle of creativity as teams competed in the Best Dressed Workstation competition. The enthusiasm was contagious, and the holiday spirit permeated every corner of the workplace.

3rd Place: Transport Department

The Transport Department transported us into a winter wonderland in the third spot. Twinkling lights, festive garlands, and an unmistakable touch of magic adorned their workstation. The effort and creativity were truly commendable, earning them a well-deserved place on the winners’ podium.

2nd Place: Weighbridge Team

Taking it up a notch, the Weighbridge Team transported us straight to the North Pole! Their workspace was a festive spectacle, complete with a Reindeer Stable, Naughty and Nice list, and an Elf home. Every detail was spot-on, creating an immersive experience that left everyone amazed.

1st Place: The Accounts, Euro Bin & HR Department

Drumroll, please! The grand winner of the Best Dressed Workstation competition was none other than the Accounts, Euro Bin & HR Department! Going above and beyond, they turned their workstation into a Christmas masterpiece. Lights, ornaments, and even a mini toy train set – their attention to detail and creative flair were pure genius. The holiday spirit radiated from their decorated space, spreading joy to everyone who entered.

We want to thank everyone at A R Richards for participating! The Agri team, the Builders Merchants, and our shed teams all brought a lot of festivity and fun to the business.

Secret Santa Extravaganza: Unwrapping the Magic of Giving

As the anticipation reached its peak, the 21st of December marked the day of our Secret Santa event. Colleagues drew names at the start of the month, and the exchange of gifts became a delightful spectacle of laughter and warmth. From heartfelt notes to quirky presents, the spirit of giving was alive and well, creating lasting memories of camaraderie and holiday cheer.

The Reused Market Stall: A Year-Round Commitment to Charity

But the spirit of giving didn’t stop there. In a remarkable display of generosity, we managed a reused market stall every week that raised over £693 for charity over the last 50 weeks. Customers flocked to the stall weekly, knowing their purchases were making a difference.

The funds raised have been donated to several charities like Hope House, Midlands Air Ambulance, Royal British Legion, and Azaylia Foundation, touching lives and positively impacting the community. This year-round commitment to charitable giving reflects the heart and soul of our workplace, where the spirit of generosity extends beyond the holiday season.

Our charitable work extends further than just our Market Stall; throughout the year, we have been able to raise money for not only the fantastic charities we’ve previously mentioned but also several sports clubs: Wem Athlectic, Norton-in-Hales Cricket Club, Hodnet FC, Prees Junior FC, Market Drayton R.U.F.C. and Market Drayton Town FC. 

We work closely with these fantastic charities and clubs and feel proud to contribute towards their missions. By demonstrating our dedication to these charities, we hope to encourage more people to place orders with us, allowing us to donate even more to these deserving causes. We firmly believe that in unity, we find strength, and in giving back, we discover the true meaning of prosperity. We are proud of the work we do and will continue to do the right thing for many years to come!

As we bid farewell to another year, these festive events have left an indelible mark on our office culture. The Best Dressed Workstation competition showcased our teams’ creativity, the Secret Santa event fostered connections, and the reused market stall demonstrated our commitment to making a difference in the community. Together, we have celebrated the season of joy, creativity, and compassion, creating memories that will linger in our hearts long after the decorations are packed away.
