This past Saturday, 13th July, was a day filled with joy, nostalgia, and community spirit as we attended the Newport Show. The highlight of our participation was undoubtedly unveiling our new mascot, Ben the Border Collie. Ben, created in memory of Tony Richard’s beloved dog, Ben, who sadly passed away before our head office, Bensite, officially opened in 2015, brought back fond memories and a sense of togetherness to everyone who met him.

Ben was a hit among the attendees, charming people of all ages and posing for countless pictures. It was heartwarming to see so many smiles as families, children, and even grandparents stopped by to get their photos taken with our friendly mascot. Ben the Border Collie truly embodied the spirit of community and togetherness that defines A.R. Richards Ltd.

Fundraising Fun!

The day was packed with several successful fundraising events and games, adding to the lively atmosphere. Bertie and Norm bravely volunteered for hair dyeing and head shaving, raising an impressive £5,656 for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. The crowd’s enthusiasm for supporting worthy causes was palpable. Additionally, our hook-a-duck game, hamper raffle, and the raffle for a John Deere Pedal Tractor collectively raised £1,405.84 for our four fantastic charities: the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, the Royal British Legion, Hope House & Ty Gobaith, and The Azaylia Foundation.

We were thrilled by the massive turnout at the event, with people flocking to enjoy the festivities and contribute to our fundraising efforts. One of the unique features we introduced this year was a skip converted into a seating booth, designed to promote our new mascot. This black and white booth, complete with a matching parasol, was a striking sight and quickly became a popular spot for people to relax and take in the vibrant surroundings while enjoying a drink and a bite to eat.

Our Charity Baler was prominently displayed at Morris Corfield’s stand, showcasing the four charities we continue to support. We were able to raise an additional £450 on the day, and we encourage everyone to keep the momentum going by donating to our JustGiving page here. Every contribution helps us support these important causes.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
